This €28 million flagship logistics hub was delivered for BMW in one of the biggest ever deals secured by a privately owned Midlands property company.

IM Properties was chosen over a number of German competitors including internationally-renowned logistics providers to manage and deliver this flagship €26m facility in Munich.

The 650,000 sq ft hub forms an extension to the existing 400,000 sq ft property, creating in excess of 1 million sq ft and BMW’s largest global non-production facility. It includes a warehouse with a full length loading tunnel, offices and a separate cross dock facility and has been fully fitted out with heating, ventilation, lighting, power, fire alarms and sprinklers.

IM Properties was selected over a number of German competitors to deliver the hub. The complex scheme included eight months of complex negotiations to acquire land from five separate German proprietors. Other obstacles included: diversion of overhead electricity cables, ground stabilisation and a high water table which needed a de-watering strategy throughout the construction process.

The fully fitted out scheme was delivered within 34 weeks of starting on site.
